Manfrotto 055 Series Tripods

The 055 series was first introduced in 1999. These models numbers all start with 055. Later in 2014 a re-design was launced and all models then started with MT055.
The old series has the model number on the outside of the upper leg or on the centre casting the legs attach to. The new series has the model number on the inside of the upper leg.
If any model has an 'X' in the number then it features a horizontal column.

If an old 055 series has the letter 'B' as the last character, this means the tripod is black in colour, for example 055B or 055XPROB.

If any model includes the number 3 it has 3 leg sections in total, including the upper leg section.

If any model includes the number 4 it has 4 leg sections in total, including the upper leg section.
